Backup and Recovery 2010 locks up computer

Thread needs solution

First of all, I am using Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) as my O.S.

I have just recently upgraded from True Image Home 2009 to the 2010 edition. Now when I try to run a backup, it will do step 1 (the Dell diagnostic partition) out of 9 but when it gets to the 2nd step (the system partition) it totally hangs. I have let it set all night just to see if it reactivates itself. No luck. I can't even get Ctrl-Alt-Delete to work. All I can do is power off the computer.

I got the 2010 version (13.0.0.6053) as I upgraded my PC from Vista Home Premium (32-bit) to what I have now. I have tried reinstalling True Image Home more than once, even installing my original 2009 version, doing its upgrade and then upgrading to the 2010. Same results.

Any ideas or suggestions???

How have you set up the task? Have you selected the whole disk or the individual partitions?

If the whole disk, what happens if you just select the C partition - does this complete?
