Backup appears to run on shutdown

Thread needs solution

Ever since the last update to Home 2011 every time I shut down some sort of backup (verify?) operation runs as indicated by activity on the USB HDD I use for backup. Win7 displays a message saying that a task is running and Windows will shut down when it's done. The task takes as long as a backup run manually. I have no shutdown tasks of any kind scheduled at shutdown. The only way to prevent the shutdown task is to manually disable the Acronis Scheduler service in Computer Management. I do not use Non-stop Backup and the service is disabled.

Any hints on how to prevent the unscheduled shutdown backup (verify/?) operation without having to disable the Acronis Scheduler service? Or how to allow manual backups to run without the Scheduler service started? (Now I have to restart it to do my manual backups.)

Kim,

Donwload the schedule manage (schedmgr.exe).
Launch a command prompt as an administrator
Navigate to the folder where schedmgr.exe is
type schedmgr.exe
type task list
YOu will see a list of tasks with a GUID

Don't close the command prompt

Using windows explorer, go to c:\programdata\ACronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts (Vista, Win 7) or c:\documents and settings\all users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts (XP)

Match each GUID to the script names in that folder. Right click on the script file, choose edit and read the XML. Verify that this is a task you have scheduled.

If you find a script that is orphan, and for which that is no task in the schedule manager, delete the script.
If you find a script that is in the schedule manager and you don't want, in the schedule manager, type task x-y where x & y correspond to the task, type task delete. Delete the script then.

Go through your backup tasks, verify the validation schedule is what you want, uncheck all boxes in the advanced settings of the validation schedules.

Another way is to export your backup settings, uninstall ATI, use the cleanup utility, reboot, reinstall it and reimport your backup settings. This will reinitialize your backups. Still, verify your validation schedules are OK, with the advanced settings cleared, like above.

Another way is to:
