Backup Archive Explorer driver error - what is it used for?
I have True Image 2011 with Plus Pack installed. In Windows XP device manager, the Acronis Backup Archive Explorer driver shows an error code 31 that says the driver could not be loaded. I have tried uninstall/reinstall but that didn't fix the issue. There is also a Acronis TrueImage Backup Archive Explorer which is functioning as expected.
True Image backups seem to run fine, and I can mount the backup, use Windows Explorer to look at the contents, and unmount the backup, all without any apparent problem.
What is the Acronis Backup Archive Explorer used for?
Can I safely ignore this driver error?

Acronis Backup Archive Explorer (the one that won't install) is dated 2010-06-02.
Acronis TrueImage Backup Archive Explorer is dated 2002-02-13.
Should I be deleting the Acronis TrueImage Backup Archive Explorer dated 2002-02-13? If so, can I just uninstall the driver and then re-install Acronis TrueImage 2011, or are there other steps required before re-installing?

I would go into the Device Manager and delete or uninstall them both.
Then open your 6696 download build and start the install program again. It will then provide you with a repair option which will re-install 6696 over the top of your existing installs. Also reinstall the plus pack.
