Backup Archive Location destination filespec is wrongly interpreted by Acronis True Image Echo Workstation
I am using a boot cd media of Acronis True Image Echo Workstation.
The goal is to make an image backup of the pc's harddisk over the ethernet
connection to a shared dir on another computer named AN0275.
The pc boots correctly from the bootcd, I can set the ethernet port's tcpip settings.
I select to make a full image backup of the all partitions on the harddisk.
To select the Backup Archive Location, I click once on 'Network' and then
start to type the path & filename into the File name field as follows:
------- File name: \\AN0275\PCImages\test.tib
While typing the above I get a loginbox titled 'Connect' requiring to type a
username & password that has rights to use the share PCImages on the destination
computer AN0275. This validates OK.
After this I can even browse the shares offered by the AN0275 server.
I now complete the field: File name: \\AN0275\PCImages\test.tib
After clicking 'Next' I get the following message and the backup does not start:
------- Error: The filename, location or format "\\AN0275... " is not valid.
It seems like the Acronis software is translating the backslashes into some kind
of character code and then does not know how to interpret the resulting ascii ?
What am I possibly doing wrong?
Tks in advance for any hints !
Ronald.

Hi,
I am using Snap Deploy workstation and I have the same problem when trying to create a master image. It does not happen on EVERY workstation, but every once in a while I get one that just will not let me save the image to a server. I have all the permissions I need to the server share and I've tried with the ip adress - no go. Is there a new bootable media I should be using?
thanks

Hello Janelle,
I'm really sorry, but in this forum we're discussing only Acronis True Image product line. I recommend you to create a new thread in this forum.
Thank you.
