Backup corrupt please advise urgent

Thread needs solution

Acronis 2015 latest build + windows 8.1 enterprise x 64

I have 2.45 TB backup of my pc in 51 parts stored on my 3TB Sata HDD ( the last 25 parts were stored on my usb hDD but I copied them over to the sata HDD)

I had created this in November and tested and it was verified.

Now I verified the backup and it says it's corrupted, however only after atleast 2.05 TB already has been checked... ( then I walked away from the computer and got back with the error)
Does this mean the first 2.05 Is fine? As that would be fine and save as that is the part where the OS resides in the first 1.36 TB..

Or it may have completed it's check successfully and only reported errors afterwards, instead of immeaditly upon finding errors? In that case the first 2 TB will be fine or not.. if u get what I mean..

Can I still try and restore this backup? Or any way to fix this? Thank you.
Can u even tell which part of the backup is actually the one corrupt in my 51 parts?
Will I able to do a restore backup and skipping the corrupt archive/files? I don't want an unbootable machine.

My current windows 8 system which I made the backup of, is having issues.
Not sure if it's because of a virus or some fault. (when I start a lot of apps I get a 0x0000142 error)
Some apps don't even start anymore or hang, and some still work regardless of the error.
And some apps don't get this error at all.
For example I can't seem to run the CMD command. I tried boot in cmd mode windows 8 and sfc /scannow but it didn't help. Did the antivirus AVG scan, hitman pro, malmwarebytes, spybot, nothing.

This is why I wanted to restore the backup.
A In place repair windows 8 would also save me, but I get the error when trying to run setup:
Something has happened, could not determine if the pc can run windows 8.

And I don't know how to solve it..

Acronis is trying to track where each part is stored. Since you moved some parts, it cannot validate the whole set per the storage location it is trackin, which is now obsolete.
Double Click on the last part of the backup. ATI will be trying to open it, and will be asking for "missing" volumes. Browse to the right file and work your way through the parts to make sure that individual versions are opening correctly (It is not clear whether you call part a version or a piece of a version).

Well I have 51 parts of 50 gigabye, final part 20 gigabyte or something. This is what I mean with parts.
In the beginning I had them stored on my USB HDD all 51.
Then copied over 25 parts to sata, then after some time thus. I had no space on my USB HDD anymore and copied the last 26 parts to sata HDD.

I am not sure it is relevant what you are saying, seems weird to me, since all the parts are now on the same disc and directory.
But I will try what you have suggested and report back soon.

If only the number after the "v" in the TIB file name changes, then you are looking at pieces of a single task run, if the number after the "s" changes, you are looking at different slices (produced by one run of the task, aka a backup version).

Based on your post, you are looking at the former case ("v"'s). I don't know for sure that ATI will know what to ask if some "v" is/are missing. I hope it behaves just like when "s" is/are missing. In the case of missing "s", it will ask you to browse to the right file, and the database will be updated to reflect th new location.

I am confused as to what you mean my dear man Pat.
My file names didn't change at all...

It names are for example: and have always been like this...
Entire PC (CRYSIS-PC)_full_b1_s1_v32.tib

Hi,
I tried restoring just the OS and program files from the backup which is like 100 GB or something of the 2 terabyte.
I did this while inside of windows 8.1.

2 or 3 files failed to restore. Devcon.exe and some other can't remember.
But it seemed succesfull and I rebooted.

Operating system now is working fine again!
However I didn't get any corrupt backup message...

Hmm I will retry validating the backups again.
I also did chkdsk /r on the disk but found no errors.

It names are for example: and have always been like this...
Entire PC (CRYSIS-PC)_full_b1_s1_v32.tib

[/quote]

So then all your files are like
Entire PC (CRYSIS-PC)_full_b1_s1_v1.tib
etc
Entire PC (CRYSIS-PC)_full_b1_s1_v50.tib

They are parts of the same backup version.

If they were like
Entire PC (CRYSIS-PC)_full_b1_s1_v1.tib
etc
Entire PC (CRYSIS-PC)_full_b1_s50_v1.tib

They would be different versions of the backup tasks.
