Backup disc is not bootable
What it is, having loads of problems get it to clone a disc. Someone from another thread said boot off your disc, but my disc was not bootable. So I went and spent £13, and ordered a backup disc hoping it would be bootable, but it is not. Is the backup disc supposed to be bootable. Thanks for your help.

If you want to do backups of a drive, do a full disk backup including all partitions, not a Clone.
The disc that Acronis sent me in the post is not bootable. In Computer, it shows up as a blank cd, with the image of Acronis 2012 burned on it.

Is your BIOS set to allow booting from optical drive before internal HD?
I know in the past that Acronis True Image Home installaller CDs were also bootable as Recovery Media. I can't guarantee that they still are (someone else can chime in here), as I don't have one handy.
If you installed ATIH 2012, you could create Recovery Media to CD-R or USB flash drive, and boot from that (assuming BIOS is set to allow that boot). Or, login (or create) your account at Acronis.com, enter your serial number, and download the latest bootable Recovery Media ISO and burn that.

In my Dell, I press F12 at boot to change boot sequence, or press F2 at boot, then change boot sequence in the BIOS. Tried those 2 ideas, and both would not work, Ie download Recovery Media, then using IMGBURN to burn ISO, and create Recovery media within Acronis 2012. Could not beleave the poor quality of the cd. For £13, I could have downloaded the image off their web site, and copied the image to cd.

Are you able to boot from other (non-Acronis) bootable CDs? For example, Windows Repair Disc?

BTW, a bootable Acronis True Image Recovery Media CD would not be blank. It would contain a folder named "Recovery Manager" which would contain many files. If yours is blank, then perhaps there's something wrong with how you burned the ISO or with your optical drive.

I can boot from a MS disc, and the Recovery Manager folder is there, it come up with a error message saying it can't see the partition etc.

What exactly is the error message when you boot from the Recovery Media CD? (Quote the error message exactly.)

Acronis Loader Fatal Error: Boot drive (Partition) not found. Press to try to boot your OS.

Tried burning using Nero, but I still get the same message.

I'm confused. Earlier you said that the disk "shows up as a blank cd", but later you said that you can see the "Recovery Manager" folder which contains many files. ??
In Windows 7, you don't need any third-party software to burn an ISO to a bootable CD-R. Just right-click the ISO and choose "Burn disc image".
