Backup Error

Thread needs solution

I have recently started getting errors while backing up to an external USB drive:

I have attached the screenshot of the error.

I am using Acronis Home 2013. After I first started getting the error, I reconfigured new backups to backup to a new folder on the external drive but the error message is looking for a .tib file on the old location.

Any help to resolve will be appreciated.

Thanks

Anand

You can solve this by making the application recreate the backup database file. That file is named archives.xml. You can find the file in the following locations:

In Windows XP: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%/Application Data/Acronis/TrueImageHome/Database/archives.xml

In Windows Vista, Windows 7: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%/Acronis/TrueImageHome/Database/archives.xml

Locate the file and rename it as archives.xml.old. Once done reboot your computer. When you start TI 2013 again the app will rebuild this file and any .tib files that no longer exist will not appear.

You can delete the renamed archives.xml.old file after you are satisfied all is working correctly if you desire.

Thanks Enchantech. Waiting for my scheduled backup to kick off in 2 hours. I see the new archives.xml file. Will post an update tomorrow on how the backup job went.
