Backup to external drive
I am looking at whether Acronis True Image 2015 fit my needs and looking for feedback from this forum.
My need is rather complex but normal for everyone.
I have 2 Win7 Prof systems. One is the master, the other is a slave. The slave will become the master if the master fail. Everyday, I have research data feed into the master server. The data are image files compliance with a IOS standard format - in that each image file has a huge overhead of descriptive verbal content describing the image. The database for this master slave system is MySQL. Both master & slave hook up to the same database for data management. The backup system is at an external NAS.
Normally all commercial backup apps perform the same. But my need is a bit peculiar.
Because all daily output image files has a descriptive part to it. Whenever an image is generated, a lot of information has to be keyed in manually before the image file can be save. The problem is human error, requirement changes, etc are daily occurrence. So it I bring up a subject topic, the subject topics has 20 or 30 images files stretches to 10 years back. If mis-information is detected, the meta data for these files has to be corrected & MySQL database will be changed. So all the related image files for this subjected over the years will be altered.
Does anyone know can Acronis True Image app can fulfill this backup role for my needs?
To summarize:
I have daily generated images files to be backup
I have daily MySQL data pertaining to these image files to be backup
If errors found in one of the existing files (daily occurrence), after I make the correction, all prior image files & database content will be altered (i.e. some sort of incremental changes).
Backup is on a NAS.
Will Acronis True Image fill the bill?
Thanks in advance.
