Backup to external sata drive in USB enclosure
I am looking for a way to make an exact copy of my hard drive so in the event my drive fails I can connect the drive in place of the failed drive and be up and running. I have a 500 GB SATA drive in my computer and a 500 GB SATA drive in my USB connected external enclosure. Will I be able to use Acronis True Image 2013 to make an exact copy of my drive that I can use in case of my hard drive failing?

True Image can clone your drive, which will be an exact copy of your current drive.
If this is the drive that contains the system it should be cloned via the recovery CD. You will need to check that the cloned drive works and MUST ensure it is not connected when you reboot your PC, otherwise the PC and Windows gets confused and will try to boot the incorrect drive. If the PC is a laptop you may need to 'reverse clone' which is to remove the current drive and make it external temporarily and insert the destination drive in. this is because some utilities and BIOS' are non standard
