Backup fail after NAS Synology DSM 5.2-5565 / Windows 7 64bits update

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I experience backup fails on all my backups after a recent DSM 5.2-5565 (NAS Synology) - Network - and a Windows 7 64bits update.

The backup stops at 69.58Mo whatever the backup procedure I run. The message says something like ....Backup failed... close the program that use the file. The related file is the .TIB file used by ACRONIS?!

The backups don't fail if I process them on the local HDD. So it looks like a network problem with Windows update or Synology DSM 5.2-5565 update. The NAS destination folder (networked) is a dedicated one without any NAS antivirus control.

Anyone with the same problem? Any ideas and advices?

Thanks!

Does the backup validate?

I was having the same issue as ft. I talked to Synology yesterday and they said that DSM 5.2 should not have caused any issues. We changed a few settings but nothing worked. I browsed these forums and found the below issue, and tried the recommendation and it worked. I deleted the keys that were to the IP address of my NAS as well as the hostname that were under the key. After doing this I opened Acronis again and browsed where I was going to send the data to. I am currently running a backup right now, and it is processing the data, unlike the failures that I was having.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Acronis\Connections\smb There should be an item with the name of your NAS Please delete this item, launch the program again and manage a new task saving archive to the NAS device Perfrom the operation and see if the issue remains.

That is a really nice find Mathew. Thank you for sharing.
