Backup fails

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I am trying to back up files on my Synology NAS to my Windows 7 PC, but I get this error message:
Access to the file is denied. (0x40014)
function = "WNetAddConnection3W",
filename = "\\NAS14"
Tag = 0xF35F747B3B21FAEE
Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password (0xFFF0)
code = 8007052E)
Tag = 0xBD28FDBD64EDB8BC.

Howe do I solve this problem?

It works fine the other way round (from PC to NAS).

I am using Acronis True Image Home 2012.

Greatful for any help with this. Thank you.

Hi Jasper,
Are you backing up or synchronizing files?

Is it possible that the file you are trying to access has read only permissions?

Or user account you are attempting to access the file with only have read only permissions.

It sounds like NAS configuration?

Thank you shadowsports. I am backing up (incremental). Today, I tried to make a new backup from NAS to PC (same destination folder as for the backup which no longer works). The new backup worked! I am wondering if the problem is due to me having deleted previous backups from a long list of incremental backups. I did not delete the first backup and also kept the first in the ongoing series though. Is it a problem to delete older incremental backups manually? I simply opened Windows Explorer and deleted the superfluous backups.
