Backup fails to complete
Vista, SP2 on Raid 1 system
have successfully used Acronis for several years. Have upgraded to Acronis True Image Home 2010, build 5055. Everything still ok. Now updated to build 6053 and backup fails at the last partition (C:)
The log shows "Locking partition C:" and then the computer reboots automatically.
Have now uninstalled Acronis and reinstalled build 5055 and backup is back to normal.
Is there a known problem with buid 6053?

I have also experienced exactly the same problem on my new Windows 7 64-bit RAID1 PC. However, the fix shown above (same as in http://kb.acronis.com/content/6529) does not work for me. The PC crashes within a minute or so of starting the backup.
The only solution that I can get to work is to install the earlier build (filename 'TrueImage2010_d_en.exe') instead of the current build ('TrueImage2010_s_en.exe'). This obviously means I can't install updates.
Is there a solution for this? Why doesn't Acronis include the drivers in the current build?

Hello DW,
Please accept our apologies for the difficulties you've experienced.
Could you please clarify what do you mean by "The PC crashes"? Were there a BSOD or just a reboot?
If your OS crashes (i.e. reboots), please collect Windows Mini-Dumps as described at this KB article along with AcronisInfo and submit a support request.
Thank you.

Thanks for the reply. What I mean when I say the PC crashes is this: a few seconds after I run the backup the PC becomes unresponsive. The mouse can be moved around but clicking on icons doesn't do anything. A few seconds after that the entire system freezes - no mouse movement, no keyboard input is accepted, no hard disk activity light etc. The reset button needs to be pressed.
Later yesterday the system was freezing as above before I even got to click on and load my Windows user profile. I suspect this was because I had scheduled a backup which started and froze the system as soon as Windows loaded.
Starting Windows 7 in safe mode and reverting to a system recovery point prior to Acronis TIH2010 removed the system freeze issue. Once out of safe mode I reinstalled the current build and then the SnapApi Build 503 as advised in the KB article and this thread, but it made no difference, the system still froze as described above.
Reverting to the earlier build of Acronis TIH2010 worked: there was no freeze and a system backup was successful, but I obviously would prefer to use the latest build of Acronis TIH2010.
Other relevant info: my PC has fairly standard components (Gigabyte motherboard, Gigabyte GEForce GPU, Seagate HDDs, D-Link wi-fi card), I've run Windows Update as required, no driver issues are reported in Device Manager. The only slightly unusual aspect of my system is the RAID1 disk array but this is supported by the motherboard and worked fine under WinXP and under Windows 7 before installing Acronis.

Have you tried the newest update for 2010 TrueImage Home which is #7046 available from your registration page.

I've just successfully completed an incremental backup using this new build (#7046) so it's looking good so far. I'll try and report back in a couple of days or so whether that's still the case.

I forgot to report back earlier but I'm pleased to confirm that the new build has worked fine since I installed it 3 weeks ago.
