Backup fails on first time
Hoping someone can help. Just bought the software and its failing on the first backup so don't know if I wasted a bunch of money and TIME or not.
Here is my problem.
I am trying to Backup a computer running Windows 8.1 Pro. I am trying to save the backup to a Network Directory which is a shared directory on another W8.1 Pro Computer
I run the program as administrator and set the backup details up then press start.
Shortly after it begins, I get a message saying "Backing up... 43.83 MB processed. Calculating time remaining"
A few minutes later the backup fails with the following message "The Backup has failed. Please close the application that may currently use the file: \\CENTRAL\Acronis\Main\MyBackup_full_s1_v11.tib" with a dialog box that says RETRY, CANCEL and BROWSE
Rebooting both machines and retrying still results in failure.
Thanks in advance.

Turns out this problem is an authentication issue despite the error message which suggests a locked file that can't be accessed by Acronis.
I worked with technical support over chat to get it working via a workaround that basically leaves a security hole that I am very uncomfortable with. The tech person didn't have a clue until I explained why I thought it was a permissions problem. I will use it for now but don't see myself using this software for long despite shelling out $50.
The inability to change authentication settings and this security hole prevents me from recommending Acronis to anyone.

Hello,
I have the same problem and yes I tried to back up my entire system drive (which is indeed an SSD) . Backup folders and files of a normal drive works fine.
