Backup Files being reported as Trojans

Thread needs solution

My Anti-Virus Avast pr0 5.0 is reporting the TIB file as a trojan. Thought at first this was a problem with the AV program but also get the same problem with Panda and LapLink and Norton. Any Ideals. Or do we have a problems with True Image

Hello William,

Thank you very much for your post. I will definitely help you with this.

We have no reports of such issues, I was wondering if you can do a full system scan and make sure that there are no viruses present on your computer. After that, can you re-create the backup and see if the problem re-occurs?

I would really appreciate if you can get back to me with an update.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

I have a very similar situation to the one reported here.

I have two attached hard drives that I put backups on for two computers (so each external hard drive has about three full backups of the two computers on it, and the three backups are identical on each drive).

I performed a thorough scan of my computer, including scanning within archives, and it came up with the following results. It seems impossible that the first result was not found on the computer, but only in one archive. The other interesting thing is that it was not found on the other portable hard drive, which also has the same file. I think that there could be a similar story with the other three results (backups of my other computer).

Is this a known false positive issue between acronis true image and avast?
