Backup job do not recreate full backup after specific times of incremental backup as expected

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm running True Image Home 2009 on a WinXP SP3 machine. I managed to create a batch file containing trueimagehomeservice.exe /scripts:.... to start a backup job which configured to re-create a full backup after 3 times of incremental backup. However, the full backup was not re-created as expected. Below summarized what I have observed.

Symptom 1
========
First run from True Image GUI to create a full backup - OK.
Subsequent backups are started by the batch file with trueimagehomeservice.exe and noted the 4th, 5th, ... are still incremental backup

Symptom 2
========
All backup are started by running the batch. First backup is a full backup as expected but subsequent backups are also full backup!

Anyway, the full backup is re-created as expected if the backup is started from True Image GUI.

Thanks, Zyxel

Hello Zyxel,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

First of all please make sure that you are using the latest build of the program. Check it in Help -> About. You can always download the latest build of the program from your account under Registered Products.

If the issue persists update Acronis scheduler using the following KB article then create new batch file in the following way and let us know if the issue persists.

Please create a text document by means of Notepad. Place the following string inside of it:

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImageHomeService.exe" /script:"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts\CURRENT SCRIPT.tib.tis"

3. Find the following path at your computer: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts

4. Find the script that you created just now. Copy the appropriate value (for example, B44A95F2-BA29-43C3-9F88-C2F566E5BCC1) and place it into the Notepad document instead of "CURRENT SCRIPT".

5. Save the file to your desktop and rename it. The file should have .bat extension.

6. Click on the file and check the functionality of Acronis software.
