Backup keeps failing - TI 2013

Thread needs solution

I have one computer that has 4 drives, which I am trying to back up. The backup splits in two versions on its own, sometimes it says it cannot find the correct version, and it fails, or says it is cancelled by user when I stop it.

I have made sure that all USB power options have been unchecked, I have made sure that there are no "ghost" files or diretories, but I still cannot figure out why I cannot back up this computer.

If an Acronis tech contacts me directly, I have snaps and log files that I can share. Thanks,

One thing for you to check is that the type of file system on the storage disk for the backups.
If you did not specifically split the files, then if a disk has a FAT32 files system, it will split into 4gb sizes automatiacally.
If you have a FAT32 system, it can be converted to NTFS so the backup wil be within one large file.

Will you clarify.
Do you have one disk with 4 partitions? or do you have 4 disks each with one partition?
This can be done viewing your disk inside Windows Disk Management graphical view.

If your computer has only 1 disk but with 4 partitions, then look at link 2 below especially the first few pictures which illustrate the use "switch to disk mode" option and all partitions will be included within your backups.

Illustrations 11-Full; 11-Inc; and 11-Diff also illustrate how to use the program to have the program perform automatic cleanup so you can have regular backups on a rotation basis with the program auto deleting the oldest versions.

It is Win 8, and all is and I have TI 2013 on five other computers. This is the only one with multi-disk. Each disk has one partition.
All are NTFS. The C drive is an SSD, the others Winchester. Thank you for the other tips.

How/where are these backup files being stores? Network disk? attached usb? whatever?

Would you mind posting a picture of the *.tib backup files so I can see the names/date/sizes assigned by Acronis.
Sort the files based on date and time such as the bottom part of this example:

Thank you for your response, and sorry for my delayed reply. I had to tackle multiple problems to resolve the issue:

1) Apparently something had gone wrong in the upgrade from windows 8 to 8.1. Some directories and files were still showing up after being deleted. I bit the bullet and reinstalled. This, however, did not resolve the issue which had brought me here.

2) I found my problem described on the Western Digital site. Apparently the MyBook series with early firmware have the tendency to disappear from the directory listings in LONG BACK UP SEQUENCES. That is why no issues were detected on small backups. I updated the firmware, and it appears that the problem is resolved for now.

Should any further issue appear, I will come back to the forum. Cheers,
