Backup a laptop to a NAS
I'm trying to configure Acronis True Image Home 2012 to a backup a laptop running Windows 7 to a Seagate NAS. Under normal circumstances everything works fine. The backup jobs run exactly as they should. The problem starts when the laptop is away from the network with the NAS.
When the backup job is scheduled to run, it pops-up an error message saying the job has been paused. The pop-up demands an administrator password to edit the job. Most of the people using the laptop don't have the administrator password. I'd rather just skip the job silently, so the backups run when they can and are quietly skipped when they can't.
I opened a ticket with support but they've been less than helpful. At first they told me to use the "Run when the current source device is attached check box". Of course this is referring to the source device not the destination device. An option to only run when the destination device is attached doesn't seem to be available for backup jobs to a NAS.
How do I configure a backup job to only run when the destination NAS is avaialble?
Thanks,
Alan
