Backup list is empty: Add backups does not work
I have updated to Acronis True Image 2015. Previously I made several backups with ATI 2011 and ATI 2014 on two external USB drives (WD my Passport). When I first started ATI 2015 these backups where listed and could be opened. Since a week I don't see any backup's in the list. I tried to choose
"Add Backup" , I selected several backups on my WD drives....When I push the ADD button... NOTHING happens... ATI does recognize the backup files (.tib) but I cannot add them to the backup list.
Can any one please provide me with a solution?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Pat,
I moved the files as you suggested and also reinstalled ATI 2015. Now it works OK again.
Thanks for your help!
Kind Regards

I just went from Acronis TI 2014 to Acronis TI 2015, and had the same problem where some available archives on my external HD that used to show disappeared. I tried the Add Backup feature. I could see the missing files I wanted to add, but when I tried to select them, they would "gray out". Another symptom is that on the Acronis Backup Screen, in the upper right corner, there are three overlapping squares and a small red dot in front of them.
If I go the missing files through windows, I can open the file and do a validate that works ok. However, doing a restore this way is not an option as it was in earlier programs. I tried to reinstall using the installation disk. It gave me two options: repair or uninstall. I tried the repair first. It did not fix it. When I tried to uninstall it, it said the program does not exist. Needless to say I am screwed, and have not found a way to speak to anyone at Acronis.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

I have the same problem, I could just copy the description.
I will try the fix PatL suggests but I hope there will be a fix for this problem. (I have the impression that the change to Build 6613 raised this problem)

I jus discovered another part of the problem. On the last backup I did to an external drive, I looked at the file on the external drive and the size was normal. However, on the Acronis Backup screen it shows the backup file as twice the size. I then looked at my c drive file using "Properties" and found it twice the normal size. I would expect this to happen if I had a copy in the Recycle Bin. This is even a bigger problem. How did the c drive almost double in size? I can't find what is causing this large! The recycle bin is empty. I put in a call to Acronis support over 4 hours ago. They said they would get back to my within two hours. So much for that support!!!

Charles,
The freeware program "Treesize Free" can helop to show what is consuming disk space.
GH46. Use "TreeSize Free" to compare 2 partitions sorted by folder size. Treesize Download link View sample screenshots
YOu might also look at how much space is being consumed by Wiindows System Restore. This setting is controllable by the user.

I have done disk cleanup, and disk defrag, with the C drive showing about 40 GB more than normal. But for some reason, the last disk backup archive is the normal size. The Acronis window index shows the last backup is as large as the C drive, but actual archive file on the external drive is the normal size. Is there an allocated space for Windows System Restore that has nothing in it to backup? How can I look at this space? I am running Check Disk to see it finds anything. That will run for a long time. I suppose it is possible there is a large unused allocated space on the HD that makes it look larger than it really is (Data wise). This whole fiasco started after installing Acronis 2015. I also installed Acronis 2015 on my backup pc but did not use it until I tested it on my primary machine. I uninstalled 2015 on the backup machine today and reinstalled Acronis 2014 that ran great.
It really bugs me that the 30 day free tech support is only for me to use the internet, not telephone assistance. They keep telling me to use a chat session that is always grayed out. This problem needs a good Acronis person to connect to my machine to see what is happening. They said that is a "pay for service"!! I wrote a letter to Acronis HQ about this service and tried to fax it to them. The listed fax number is NG!!! What else can go wrong?

I discovered that when I delete an Acronis archive from my external HD, it no longer appears in the Recycle bin where I can delete it, while the C drive increases in size. However, when I create a new backup, the backup size is much smaller (normal) than the C drive. It appears when I do the delete, it goes into the C drive as empty allocated space. When I create the next backup, it does not back it up because it has no data in this allocated space. Is all this possible?

Most backups are too large and byp0ass the recycle bin.
Also, you can check some of your settings for the recycle bin.
Be sure the external is attached.
Right click on the Recycle bin on your computer and look at the properties settings,
and look at how much space (if any) is allocated to the specific
external drive recycle bin.
Normal settings on a backup uses compression and the reduced size of the backup file will be about 65-75% of used space indicator.
