Thank you.
You are correct in saying , that my storage device is 64 GB usb pen drive. and has FAT file system FAT32.
I don't know whether and how it has a limit on the sizes of individual files caused full backup to be split into pieces. I did not set any limit ???
As you told that the full backup has split into pieces That means i cannot delete any version from v1 to v9 as shown in the image !
How did you find out that it is full backup split into pieces ?
I still do not understand this !
Can you explain the image , i.e. ST3160316AS_full_b1_s1_v1
ST3160316AS_full_b1_s1_v2
ST3160316AS_full_b1_s1_v3
.........
and so on.
I want to know whether ST3160316AS_full_b1_s1_v1 is full backup or not ?
or, ST3160316AS_full_b1_s1_v2
ST3160316AS_full_b1_s1_v3
....... are also part splits of single full backup ?
2. Now when I go for Disk & Partition Backup menu in ATI 2013, then in Configure Disk Backup Process, there are three things :
i) Source - clear
ii) Destination - clear
iii) SCHEDULE --not understood
i HAVE attached the of the default schedule settings image that appears, please have a look.
Under this , Backup Scheme : It says Incremental
Is it default ??? , i think , because i have not set any setting.
If it is default then i think it suppports my query regarding different versions v1 to v9 .
That there are 9 versions of single full backup in the first image i provided / attached !!!
I am correct or not ???
You have said same here !!
Incremental backup type.
Basically an inc tracks the changes since the last incremental
Backup 1 is a full backup
Backup 2 records the changes that has occurred since Backup 1
Backup 3 records the changes that have occurred since Backup 2, etc
But the Backup image containing different versions V1 to V9 were made in single Backup Process/ time . So i don;t understand if it is incremental then how Backup 2 records the changes that has occurred since Backup 1.

While Grover has a rest :) .... The reasons those files are split (and True Image does that automatically) is because a FAT32 formatted disk has a maximum file size of 4GB, so True Image will split the file up into 4GB slices, 4194304KB = 4.194GB.
V1 to V9 are the split of images to make your one full, they will all be needed to make a recovery. In other words what you have is.
Full image = Image part 1, image part 2, image part 3 etc.
The default image type is incremental. If the task has not bee run before, TI 2013 will automatically make a complete disk image (a Full) and then make incremental images.

For help in understanding the 2012 backup, click on Link #2 inside my signature below. Figures 11-Full; 11-Inc; 11-Dif illustrates some examples of setting. It is best not to use the default settings but create you own such as listed in the figures 11 examples.

The FAT32 is a file size limit set by the Windows program. User cannot bypass this limit. If you do NOT want the limit and want the backup file to be one large file, you will need to "convert" the FAT32 drive to an NTFS file system.
No, you can not delete any pieces (v1-v9) or none will be usable.

I still do not understand this !
Can you explain the image , i.e.
ST3160316AS_full_b1_s1_v1
ST3160316AS_full_b1_s1_v2
ST3160316AS_full_b1_s1_v3
.
and so on.
This is one backup file divided into 3 pieces. all pieces required for validity. It is the "s1" and the "V1, V2, V3" which tells me it is one file broken into pieces. It would read like below if it were 3 backups of the same task. .
b1_s1_v1
b1_s2_v1
b1_s3_v1
A different task would read differently.

I want to know whether ST3160316AS_full_b1_s1_v1 is full backup or not ?or, ST3160316AS_full_b1_s1_v2
ST3160316AS_full_b1_s1_v3
....... are also part splits of single full backup ?
This is One backup split in to pieces. The date-time listed in the storage file folder can help you to understand as the date will be the same and the time very similar.
ST3160316AS_full_b1_s1_v1
ST3160316AS_full_b1_s1_v2
ST3160316AS_full_b1_s1_v3
--------------------------------------------------------
The best type of backup to have is one that includes all partitions including any hidden partitions. Figure 4 and 5(inside the Link E2 reference) illustrate the disk mode backup which includes all partitions. One of the most frequent new user mistakes is that they backup only the Drive C which is usually not sufficient to restore to a new drive. It is best to backup all partitions.

Here are some illustrations of how your backup storage folders might look with examples of how the full; full+inc; and full+dif type backups listed.
In order for your folder to shows arrangement, from inside the storage folder, click on the View/detail option.
