Backup Methods not working as they should...

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Using TI 2010 Build 6.053 I find that a number of the "Backup Methods" don't work as I would expect.

  • If I select the "Full backup" method and select the "A new full backup ovverwrites the previous one", then as soon as the backup process starts the "previous" backup is deleted, as expected. If I deselect this option then the "previous" backup is delected at the end of the backup process, NOT as I expect! In both instances the name of the backup is "D:\My Backups\System_C_W7_@date@.tib" so on different days will have different names.
  • If I select "Incremental Backup", with the options "Create a new full backup after 7 incremental backups" and "Delete previous Archive" set, then I get a new full backup after only 5 incremental backups. For example I have a set of backups that go:
  1. System_C_W7_04_01_2010.tib      Full backup
  2. System_C_W7_05_01_2010.tib      Incremental backup
  3. System_C_W7_15_01_2010.tib      Incremental backup
  4. System_C_W7_16_01_2010.tib      Incremental backup
  5. System_C_W7_17_01_2010.tib      Incremental backup
  6. System_C_W7_18_01_2010.tib      Incremental backup
  7. System_C_W7_19_01_2010.tib      Full backup

Anyone any clues as to what's going on??

Thanks, Jim
