"Backup Now" not working on scheduled task
I'm using ATI Home 2011 build 6942.
I've had a weekly scheduled backup task since last summer. I cancelled last weeks task because I was in the middle of something and didn't want to backup.
Today I was having some funkiness with my system. So I went into ATI and tried to use the Backup Now button to do a backup using that scheduled task that I missed. Nothing happened though. I checked in the Log also. There was nothing for today.
I ended up creating a single image backup for today, just in case.
Just wondering why backup now wouldn't work??

I'm using Acronis Backup and Recovery 11 (ABR) and it does something similar. Once a scheduled task time has been missed it won't run the next scheduled time, and you can't run it manually. However, I've discovered that if you edit the task such that the next scheduled time is in the future it clears the problem *AND* you can then run the task manually from a right-click. Maybe that'll work for ATI 2011 as well. Good luck (we all need it!) Acronis, if you're reading this please fix both products to run the next scheduled time even if a prior task has been missed. Notification that the task was missed would be nice as well.

I haven't completed a backup in a few weeks, hopefully you can help.
When I try, I've been getting the, "The specified file does not exist" and I can't get past it. I'm in the process of trying a newly created backup and I think I am currently backing up (I hope because it's been running for about 15 minutes with no progress). Currently the screen shows BACKING UP with, "Queued" on top of an empty progress bar.

Well, try the easiest things first. First close everything and reboot.
Load ATi and see if you can open the backup location. If not, your PC might have prob recognizing the disk. If you can view the backup location from within ati the:
Edit the task, save it, and then retry.
Lastly, create a new task. First move or delete the old backups to make it easier to keep them straight later.
If none of those works, then try reinstalling ati.

I guess there's no sense waiting for the supposed backup in progress since it doesn't appear to be doing anything.
I have rebooted probably 15 times since this started happening.
My PC recognizes my external drive perfectly.
I edited the backup and re-saved but when I select the BACK UP NOW option on the bottom right corner, nothing happens.
It shows another back up in progress but when I select STOP, it doesn't stop (no matter how many times I click, "X STOP".
If I have to resort to reinstalling, I upgraded online from 2014 to 2015 so I would need to do that again as well or just install 2015.
Thanks for your time,
Richard

Richard - seems like something went awry is the upgrade. Run the clean tool (and check for leftover folders), reboot and reinstall from scratch. You should only need to install 2015. However, when activating, if this was an upgrade key, you will be prompted to enter the old key as well.

I had a feeling this was going to happen because yesterday I uninstalled and I just completed the download from my account and it's asking for the serial number when I try to start it up. This software AND this forum are VERY confusing!
