Backup over older versions

Thread needs solution

I have been backing up with Acronis 2011, last one 2 months ago. I want to do a complete backup with 2015. Should I wipe out all previous backups and start fresh?

If you have the spare storage space, keep the old backups. You must never know when they can come in handy.

Create new backup tasks. store your 2015 backups in a different swub-folder and there will be no inteference.

Depending upon which type backup you choose, Full only, or Full plus incremental, or Full plus differential,
here is some examples you can use for setting up you new backup task schemes.

GH11. Create Custom Full Backup Scheme.Keep 4 versions (chains). The 4 is an example only with user choice for whatever number of chains to be retained best fits the individual needs..

GH12. Create Custom Incremental Backup Scheme. 6 Inc, Keep 4 chains. The 6-4 is an example only with user choice for whatever number of chains to be retained best fits the individual needs.

GH13. Create Custom Differential Backup Scheme. 2 Diff, Keep 2 chains. The 2-2 is an example only with user choice for whatever number of chains to be retained best fits the individual needs.
