Backup Plan

Thread needs solution

Hi
I have just downloaded the latest version of Acronis True Image 2012. I have being trying to come up with a backup strategy for my computer and I have not received the ideal solution to my backup Plan it always fails because of not enough disk space.
I have tried the various options and none seem to do what I want can you help in getting the backup plan right.

Scenario

I am using another internal Hard drive for my backup Partition Size is 542.22GB’s
I create a ‘Manual Full Backup’ Size about 180.5GB . This I want to create manually when I need too.

Backup Plan

I want to be able to do a Differential every two or three days and a full backup say about every 9 days but keep the size within the available space by deleting the set before it does the full backup all automatically done by true image.

Mostly only Updates for programs and some data of about 100mb per week are added this is only a rough value sometimes less is added.

Hope you can help me.

TrueImage will not delete the old file until a new one has been successfully created. Thus, your 542GB storage space limits you to retaining only 1 full plus a few diff because you must plan for the temporary additional full.
So your space needs will be 180x2=360 plus whatever space for the diff. This sum does not leave you enough room for another full.
You could set up a task similar to this. change or retain the 6 diff example but you must change the 4 full to 1 so only 1 full (plus diff) will be retained.

Thanks GroverH
I will give this a try Have more space Now 1Tb

Trying Store no more than 2 recent version chains..
But what about Version Chain Backup and which is best?
