Backup Scheme

Thread needs solution

When I try to create a backup and open the Options tab, I do not see the Backup Scheme tab. Does this mean my Acronis True Image 2015 isn't working properly? It means I can schedule how often I want a backup, but I can't select all the important items such as Type of Backup, Validation, etc.

Yes, the options tab still inludes all the normal disk options as per this link.
http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATI2015/index.html#7…

If you check again and the items are truly missing,
then I would restart the installation program and choose the repair option.
if still missing after that, then I would uninstall and reinstall again.

Thank you for offering some solutions.

I tried the repair option. No change.

So I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it. When I logged back on to my account I could see the backups I had previously done, but now when I selected a backup, the Operations pick bottom left only offered - alarmingly - Delete or Reconfigure!

I clicked on Reconfigure, and at least that resurrected the Options pick at bottom left. When I clicked on that...

Sigh!

...I'm back to four picks: Schedule, Notifications, Exclusions and Advanced. No Backup Scheme.

What should I do now?

If you are within 30 days of purchase, it would be best for you to contact Acronis via the LIVECHAT support option.

Start upper right corner with support and log into your personal account and persue asking for support via the Live Chat option.
You will need to have registered your TI serial number before you can ask for support.

Well, I contacted Technical Support, and am posting the reply here since it may help others.

The response from my Technician, confirmed by email form him, was:

"As discussed, we will not be able to validate the backups stored to the Acronis cloud location, as the backups are stored on a remote location. The Validation option is applicable for only local backups.

"You can explore the backup archive by logging into your Acronis cloud location and will be able to ensure that the backups are created properly."

In addition he said that any backups to the cloud location were inevitably Incremental, and there was no other option. Therefore the Backup Scheme tab is not available if you back up to the Acronis cloud location.

So if you use the cloud you have to keep your fingers crossed, since you cannot run and form of validation, nor can you choose the type of backup you do.

There it is!

Thank you for posting the results of your conversation with tech support. I've been battling this for two weeks. I will skip several of the steps you went through. I will now go back and try to change the destination to my external drive.
