Backup Task hangs on W2008 Server with True Echo Server
Hello,
My Backup to a network share works fine for some weeks. But now i have the Problem that during the differentiell Backup the task is hanging for Hours with no end. The Backup starts .... works ....to 100% .... and then hangs. I can see the new backupfile with a size of 0 KB. Then i kill the Acronis task with the taskmanager, the Backupfile is complete and works. I only have 1 Fullbackupfile and 1 DIff. Backupfile (to build). During the hanging Process no other Tasks of Acronis can start. My System W2008 Server , all Patches Acronis True Echo Server (Build: #8319) Backup Medium - Network Share Other Backups on the same Server annd same Networkshare works fine No Messages or Errorlogs in Acronis or the w2008 System Can somebody help with my Problem? Thanks

Hello Alexander,
i`m really happy that you try to help me.
Yesterday we tried to make the backup to the local Disk - > sorry, but it is the same effect.
The task stopps at 80% without any errors in acronis or eventmanager.
Do you know if there are any problems with the filesize - our backupfile actually needs ca. 65 GB for the first full backup.
Thanks for your help
hope we will find a solution

My own stops at 50% (being with validation, means that stops near the end of backup)
And it's only 20 GB.
Just to let you know.
BTW, if you find another solution to backup servers, please tell me what .
Thank you
P.S. Have you tried to check if something else is blocking disk access?

Hello all,
We are really sorry for the delay with the response and for the difficulties you've experienced.
Let me help you with the issue.
Nhlfm, I may suggest you to update SnapAPI drivers to resolve the issue.
- Download SnapAPI update
- Unpack the archive and run the SnapAPISetup.msi file;
- Go through the wizard screens and hit Proceed to install the update.
(!) You will need to reboot the machine to finish the installation.
Fabio, in your case I recommend you to set the validation task separately, i.e. create one task to perform a back up and the second one to validate created archive.
Please reply to this thread if the issue is not fixed or if you have any further questions.
Thank you.

Hi Oleg,
thanks for your help.
We have made a dump.zip but its a size of 50 MB to much to upload here.
We could not find any WER folders to send the .wer file.
We have installed the last update for our product.
The error now is :
Acronis starts .... works to 99% or 100% then it stopp without end. We have to kill the process via taskmgr and kill AcronisServices.exe. Then we can close the window. But, at this time is no backupfile available.
So, thats our problem at the moment.
Hope you can help us.

After that, i started the VSS Service again ... and ..... and ..... my Acronis backup finished the backuptask - perfect.

Hello all,
I would like to share the results of the troubleshooting steps performed via PMs.
We resolved the issue by installing the latest version of the program Acronis Backup & Recovery 10. In this version the better VSS support has been implemented.
