Backup for use with a Virtual Machine
I need to continue using XP so will be using a Virtual Machine. I'm told that the backup protocol is different from backing up data. Can someone tell me how to do this, or point me to the pages in the user's manual? Thank you.

The simplest way to backup a virtual machine is to just back up the virtual hard drive file when the machine is not running. There is nothing special involved. I've been using virtual machines for 15 years. All I do is keep the virtual machine on my C and do a normal backup.
It is possible to install TI in the virtual machine and back it up from within the running virtual machine. Deciding where to store the backup so it will be accessible when a restore is needed is difficult. You also need a second license for the copy of TI installed in the virtual machine. Acronis has spoken on this issue in the past. Save yourself a lot headaches and do as I suggested above.
