Backup of Win 8.1 tablet

Thread needs solution

Just got this new Windows 8.1 tablet.
I should like to backup it like I backup a desktop: Boot from rescue media and launch Acronis.

The problem is that I have not found a way to select the USB device as boot device.
Is the only way to backup with Acronis to install it on the tablet?

What make/model of tablet is it? So, with your desktop you are doing all manual backups using the rescue media?

Thanks for your replies. It is a proprietary table which does boot with 32 UEFI.
I don't want to install Acronis when it is low on memory and low on storage.
The problem is that when I have a KB,mouse, USB stick or USB drive attached to the mini USB they are not recognized.
Bluetooth keyboard is recognized in Windows. So I am getting also a BT mouse. Using the tablet like a desktop with 7" touch screen is a pain in the neck.
No problem accessing the BIOS as instructed eg. at

However, when I get there I have only the volume buttons and the power button for navigation and could not figure how to get to the boot options with them.

So I ended into installing Acronis and it seemed to backup OK. After the install I uninstalled it to get the space back.
For the time being that is adequate.
