Backup Windows 8.1 no problem, recover Windows 8.1 huge problem (SSD/PCIe)
Hello,
I have the following configuration built system.
Motherboard: ASUS RAMPAGE V EXTREME, Extended ATX x99 Motherboard , LGA 2011-V3 Socket, DDR4 3300Mhz+(OC)
CPU: Intel Core i7-5960X Haswell-E 8-Core 3.0GHz LGA 2011-v3 Processor
GPU: EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 GDDR5 Graphics Card
Memory: DDR4 - 8 X 8GB Corsair DOMINATOR Platinum Series 64GB P/N: CMD64GX4M8A2400C14
Drv SSD: 2 X Intel 750 Series SSDPEDMW400G4R5 HHHL (CEM2.0) 400GB
Drv HDD: 6 X Seagate 6TB Desktop HDD (STBD6000100)
O/S: Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit (non-OEM)
I am able to backup the system with ATI 2015, but when attempting to recover the partitions, the process cannot be completed due to ATI2015 not reconizing the SSD drives during the recovery process. The SSD are part of the Intel's 750 series new technology that are supported by the NVMe driver. When viewing the BIOS, the SSD are not displayed in SATA section, but under the PCIe/NVMe subdivision which there the SSD drives are identified and displayed by part numbers.
The problem is when attempting to recover the partitions, ATI2015 does not reconized the SSD drives. ATI sees the SATA drives which cannot be configured as boot drives. Only the PCIe drives (SSD) can be considered as boot partitions. The remaining SATA are concidered as DATA sources only.
Please accept my challenge in helping me with getting over this hurdle of being able to backup and recover using the ATI 2015 of the SSD drives.
Thank you,
WVL
