Backup won't write backup file to second USB disk (message = "Specified File Does Not Exist")

Thread needs solution

If I try backing up anything (e.g. my system disk) to an external USB everything work ok. If however I have two external USB disks and try getting TI to save the backup file to the second USB disk it fails with the good old "Specified File does not exist" message and fails. Anyone got any ideas why this might happen?

Thanks.

I have seen something similar, which suggests that ATI only 'sees' the first USB storage device attached to the computer. I think this is done by drive letter. I installed 2014 Premium on my work machine last night and it found backups on my Seagate 750gig USB 2 drive (drive Q) but did not find those on my WesternDigital 3TB USB3 drive (Drive X).

Not sure where this gets us, but it may be the starting point for getting a solution to your problem.

This is not correct.

You can backup with multiple USB disks connected.

I suspect your issue has to do with Windows assignment of drive letters. When using an external drive for backup, each should be assigned a fixed drive letter, and each drive should have its own backup task(s).

I only saw this when I did a fresh install of 2014 Premium. Found backups on one drive but not the other. The drive letters are permanently assigned.
