backup/recovery to/from dropbox or other non Acronis cloud storage

Thread needs solution

I already have a dropbox subscription for 1TB. my question: is there a solution to backup and restore to/from non Acronis Cloud storage? I understand excluding the dropbox folder from the source but I don't see how one can restore a disk from an external cloud storage since you are ostensibly backing up and restoring from a location that is local folder as far as true image is concerned.

David, in order to backup or restore directly to / from a non Acronis Cloud storage service, you would need to be able to define the network path to that service, either using FTP or mapping a drive letter etc.

The main issue in doing this, and in using the Acronis Cloud service, is simply the restrictions for upload / download data transfer rates that are placed by the broadband provider / ISP you use.

I personally would not attempt to backup my drives to Dropbox even if I did have a subscription to the storage needed, my understanding is that Dropbox does not support the file sizes that may be involved in an Acronis backup image.

I think you may be right about the amount of data transferred. Comcast currently has no such restrictions but give them time. I was able to transfer file as you can see in the screen capture but as you suggested it did take an inordinate amount of time.  I'll try remapping the dropbox folder to as a local drive. I have 2TB of NAS that I was previously using but with 3 PC(s) on active backup it it tends to use it up.
