Backups failing

Thread needs solution

Following the replacement of one of my two external BU discs and a switch to Diff supported disc-to-disc backups, I decided to "start again" my backup procedures.

I set up two new Ti 2014 procedures and reformatted the two external discs.

However, my attempts to complete any backups now fail. I have made several attempts, I feel that the discs I am backing up are looking for previous versions.

I attach the error messages.

I would be grateful for guidance.

Noel,

I'm unclear, did you delete the original tasks and then make new ones?

I deleted the settings and made new ones.

I tried to delete backups AND settings, however, this action doesn't complete, just struggles on. I'm trying that complete delete again and letting it continue to see if it really require hours!

Is the drive with the images on, an external or internal drive? If external is it USB, NAS, Firewire?

How are you deleting the images, through True Image or from Windows Explorer or other file manager?

The source files are on internal drives, the destination files are on external drives.

The external drives are USB connected.

I deleted the images on the external drives by reformatting the discs.

I deleted the Ti Settings in Ti. The complete delete in Ti goes on forever! I have to terminate by used ctrl/alt/del, then it indicates that Ti is waiting for a response!

Odd!

Thanks for your interest.....Noel

Change of plan! Realising I was happy to "start again," I have re-installed Ti2014 and my new set up is working fine and just as I require.....Diff-based Disc-to-Disc BUs!

Thanks again Colin.

The reason why this happened is that your copy of ATI had an outdated internal database tracking the versions of your backups. This file is called archives.xml and is in the c:\programdata\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database folder on Win7 and Win8 systems. Deleting this file and restarting ATI typically solves for this. A more drastic approach (that you used) is to uninstall and resintall ATI.
