Bad Certificate Request

Thread needs solution

When attempting to backup a 18 Gb file I get "Bad Certificate Request" and the backup fails.  Acronis Support Center says there is no information available for this condition.  My backups have been working for two years and when the program was restored following a HDD failure this condition appeared.  What to do?

What is the 18Gb file - the file type may shed some light on the issue a bit more as things like .pst's are more likely to backup successfully whent the are not in use.

Are you sure it was not corrupted from the failed disk where it originally resided.  Acronis will backup data on a failing disk, but if the data is already corrupted, it's only backing up corrupted data too.

Have you tried backing up the 18Gb file by itself with it's own backup task in Windows?

How about with the offline recovery media instead to see if it can be backed up when it's not active?

Can you back it up with Windows backup or does that fail too?

This issue has resolved itself for no apparent reason.  Recent backups seem to be working.  Thank you for your prompt response to my issue.

Hey, if it's working, it's working - and that's the main thing.  Glad you're back in business.
