Bad pre-selection of "Cancel" option in TI 2010

Thread needs solution

I have greatly benefitted from using Acronis True Image (ATI) since version 9 but I find a serious design error, for me, with the 2010 upgrade, ATI recently cost me 14 DVDs to back up the 47 GB Vista environment on a laptop, when only 6 DVDs were needed. Why? When ATI asks for a new medium it pre-selects the "Cancel" option in the dialogue box, and I learned the hard way that you had better insert that new blank DVD fast, otherwise Cancel is automatically invoked and you must start the job all over again from scratch. That is MOST unfriendly user-interfacing; because the user cannot predict how long the program will take to ask for a new medium (blank DVD), and often cannot sit around the computer watching and waiting for it to ask! I do not recall having this issue with version 11, so I am very likely to uninstall the 2010 version and go back to versioon 11. Sorry!

Hello Leroy Stone,

Thank you for your post. I will do my best to assist you.

I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience. There is a 10 minute time-out period in Acronis True Image 2010 Home. Our developers are aware of this and we are working to improve our software.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you.
