Bad Sectors
I had an Acronis TI 2014 (Build 6688) Image backup failure (The program hung). After cancelling the backup, the log indicated that there were bad sectors on the drive. Using chkdsk /R, I found that the drive had 224 bad sectors.
Would 224 bad sectors be enough to cause TI 2014 to appear to hang even though I checked the options to ignore bad sectors ?
Considering that there were that many bad sectors, would the time spent by Acronis (or possible the operating system) trying to access them be enough to hang the program for over an hour or more ? I canceled the backup but, if I didn't and given enough time, is it probable that the backup would have eventually completed ?
BTW, although Seagate's (Drive OEM ) tools repaired all the bad sectors, I did replace the drive.
