Basic Functions Are Not Obvious

Thread needs solution

I have been an Acronis TIH user for many years now, although I have to admit I purchased the 215 upgrade with mixed emotions. TIH was never user friendly or intuitive, and once I learned to navigate the previous version, I was reluctant to begin a learning experience in a newer version. However, now that I committed, it seems my worst fears have been realized. The newest version is less intuitive than previous versions, and even after looking over FAQs I still cannot find a few basic features of the program for simple backup and recovery. For example, after completing a backup, where is the log record to see if the program has completed successfully. I cannot find a single reference to log results. In addition, how can I recover a single file; nowhere is there anything related to "Recovering A File?" Shouldn't there be a menu item after the startup screen indicating a recovery option? Also, once I set up a backup type with parameters chosen, and store it by name, how can I select it for a future backup, since the program never gives me a choice of selecting a named backup option? Even the individual FAQ topics are difficult to understand, since many of the items they refer to are not accessible in my screens. Is there a readable version of a user manual?

Any hints on getting the program operational in a rudimentary manner to back up my disk, recover it if needed, or recover a particular file, would be greatly appreciated.
