Best practice for Images?
Hi, I trying to get some advice on the proper way to make images. Also the unique case of doing an image on a PCIexpress hard drive that has occurred. I recently set up a PCIexpress hard dive on my system. I noticed that there is a difference in boot UEFI and standard BIOS (I guess that is what not UEFI is called). Acronis True Image 2014 also boots different based on these. After installing Windows 8.1 I had my computer set up like so (see PDF named Save). I put a check mark on all parts of the disk to backup like I always do. Then made the image. After the image was created I restored it to make sure every thing was working correctly. I went back into windows and now see an unallocated area of my hard drive (see PDF named Restore). Where did this come from? Is it OK for this to be there? So far it has not caused any problems or concerns. I ask all questions here because there are some parts of image creation that I have just rolled with and never been clear on what it all means. I will say that I have learned that making images is well worth the time. Thanks for any help.
