Black screen on Disk clone Help

Thread needs solution

Hi I'm writing from my PC (XP) that has a registered Acronis Home 9 so I can't get support on this computer for my Acronis Home 2011 that I just installed on my laptop

I was cloning the drive on my laptop (Windows 7) using the automatic mode, and after a while my computer screen went black.. The disks are still flashing on both the laptop and the external USB drive so I'm assuming this is working but I have no way of monitoring it... also periodically, my laptop is also going to sleep but when I move the mouse it starts doing the disk flashing again but I can't tell what's going on because the screen is black..

I have a Sony Viao with an Intel core i-5 and 4GB of Ram and I'm trying to clone a 500GB drive to another 500 GB drive...

Can someone please email me and tell me how to proceed?

Thank you

This forum helped me right away.. I saw the post about changing the power options in Windows (so it wouldn't sleep while cloning) and I was going to try that, but then I saw the post about using the original DVD which is a boot DVD.. So I did that.. eh voila!!!! No problems.. Worked like a charm...

Thank you...

PS: I never had problems with my Acronis Home 9 on my PC with XP... I recommend this product to anyone for cloning.. I don't use the other features though......yet!!!

Again

Thanks
