Black screen when booting recovery CD on Macbook Pro

Thread needs solution

I got Acronis True Image with the OCZ Vector SSD. Using this, I backed up my Bootcamp (Windows) partition to a USB drive, and it worked fine.

But now, when I want to restore the drive, I boot from the recovery CD and get a black screen. I am unable to restore my windows partition. I have seen messages of others with the same problem - how do you solve this? I put all my info on this in a folder on my windows drive, so I cannot add the "freebie" True Image to my account in order to download any updates.

However, if it is helpful at all, I do have Disk Director 10 on my account, and can download the bootable media for it, but I do not know if it will boot to a non-black screen, and if it does, if it can read and restore the backup.

Any help or ideas are appreciated.

Note: Downloading the trial of TrueImage 2013, and creating a new recovery disk from it, gives a disk that boots on the Mac.
