Blue and yellow shield on desktop

Thread needs solution

I have recently upgraded to T I 2013 and it works fine. What puzzles me is the blue and yellow shield which sits alongside the T I icon on my desktop. I have searched the net and initially the word is that it means that the program must be run as administrator and then the word is that a virus is the cause. I have recntly done a full system scan with Norton 360 with no problems other than the usual cookies. Can anyone give a definitive answer please re the shield? Thank you.

It is the Windows UAC mechanism, if for example you set this to zero, the shield will disappear. Howver of course this is a global setting, so all your other program will be unshielded as fas as Admin/User access is concerned

The reaon the UAC is activated on this is because True Image accesses crucial system resources.
