I did not have a previous install. This is a fresh brand new install of the product on a new fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on a Lenovo Thinkpad W500 laptop.
Yes there is a card reader in the laptop, it is part of the system.
All antivirus software was disabled.
And for the record, this never occurred with TI 2010, which was installed on this same laptop but on a different install of Windows 7. Like I said, this is a fresh vanilla install of Windows 7.
The error I receive in the BSOD is related to vididr.sys STOP at 0000007E.
That is all I could write down before the system rebooted. If there is somewhere else specific that you would like me to retrieve information from, let me know.
This is extremely frustrating and I want to get this resolved quickly. I can't believe simply installing the product causes a BSOD....
Thanks.

Thanks for the help Acronis forums. You're damn product doesn't even install. I'm done with this. Installed NovaBackup first time. Already backing up.
You guys just lost a customer for life.

Chris,
It looks like you have a problem that is known, but without solution.

I posted earlier about install problems to a HP/Compaq machine running Vista. Could not recognize external HDD and trying to fix it led to a blue screen and could not boot computer. I did a fresh install of System 7 64 bit and now all is good. The problem I think was that Acronis 2012 is not compatible with the HP backup and recovery utility that was pre-installed - I saw a npte about that somewhere deep in the forum. A long way around, but I didn't want Vista anyway. So get rid of the HP utility!
