Boot CD cannot see the DISK1 (119GB NVMe SAMSUNG MZVLV128). It just see the DISK2 (1TB Hitachi HGST HTS721010A9E630)
Hi,
Brand new ASUS ROG G752VT-DH72.
Installed Acronins True Image 2015 (build 6525).
Created a backup of the DISK 1 (SSD 119GB NVMe SAMSUNG MZVLV128)
Created Boot CD.
To boot, I had to make these changes in the BIOS:
- disable fast boot
- disable secure boot
- enable Launch CMS
Then, the CD boots fine. However There is no way I can restore the SSD drive, because it is not there. The booted from CD machine is showing just the standard (DISK 2) 1TD drive.
How can I restore the DISK1?
When launching the restore from the already booted (from HDD, standard, i.e. no recovery CD), it says 'needs to reboot to restore'. It does reboot but then I get a blue (not of death) screen. Nothing is restored.
If something goes wrong in windows, I need to rollback it to a good known copy. I coudn't find any way to do this, because the DISK1 is unseen by the recovery CD.
Many thanks!

PL...As Steve states, you will have to make a WinPE. When making the PE, you have to include the driver for the SSD 119GB NVMe SAMSUNG MZVLV128. Adding drivers to a PE can be a challenge.
Here's a couple of links (credit to Bobbo) that should help.

Many thanks for your fast and useful replies.
I've found this, complementary to the links you've posted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIBJNni6fic "How to create a WinPE bootable media" by Support Acronis.
I was able to create a functional (now I can see both disks) booteable DVD disc.
However, I was unable to boot from USB. Using the same ISO image written with rufus-2.7p.exe or unetbootin-windows-613.exe. The image should be fine. It should be something about the PC itself, but coudn't find what.
Best regard,
PL

PL, you will need to look at the options within your BIOS or UEFI settings to determine why you cannot boot from a USB drive, if you are running Windows 10, then you may want to check out the Advanced startup options to select the USB boot device via that method. See screen capture.

PL,
I can't find your bios information online from ASUS. I have an ASUS T200 and to get to the bootover-ride menu, I've found it best to completely shutdown, not reboot. Once shutdown, remove the battery and unplug AC power. Press the power button a few times to dissipate remaining electricity. Then plug in the battery and/or AC power. The point of this is to force Windows to "cold" boot instead of a quick/warm boot so that you can get to the boot overrided menu before it jumps straight back to Windows.
Turn your system on and immediately start pressing "ESC" and that should get you to your boot overrided menu. Look for the USB option and hopefully you're all set. If not, do the same thing, but try "F1" instead of "ESC" if ESC doesn't help at all.
I would also mention that you will need to disable SECURE Boot in your bios if it's anything like my ASUS (the T200 is UEFI only and does not have Legacy/CSM boot support; if secureboot is on, it prevents the system from being able to boot to external flash/hard drives that are UEFI capable... which Acronis Linux and WinPE media are).

Thank you, guys.
I have no issue regarding getting into the BIOS configuration (and tryied everything there, without luck regarding booting from USB). Anyway, I'm fine with being able to boot from the DVD I've created with your help.
