Hello Dieter,

welcome to Acronis Forum and thank you for your question.

As far as I understand, you cannot see the program interface while booting from Acronis bootable media.

I will be glad to assist you.

The issue you've faced is most probably caused by wrong video mode. Please follow this instruction to choose the right one.

Should the issue persist or you have additional questions, feel free to contact me.

Thank you.

I have Acronis True Image 2014. I created a bootable media for my Dell laptop. I boot up from the Acronis Media CD. When I press 1 to start Acronis, there is a message to edit the Kernel Command Line, but is does not let me do this. I can I type "quiet vga=ask?

Hello Randy,

in Acronis True Image 2014 you can also select video mode using the same command vga=ask. Please check this guide for more information.

Thank you.

Thank you, but this is not the correct answer.

When I boot off the Acronis Bootable CD, a dialogue box opens. I select 1. for Acronis. When I select "e" for Edit Kernel Command Line, it does not allow me to enter in a command to correct the display video mode, such as "quiet vga=ask". It seems the keyboard does not work. How do I enter a Command Line?

I have a graphical version on my bootable CD that I created. I simply hover the mouse over the true image button and then press F11. Does this help?

Hi Randy,

most likely your keyboard is not correctly recognized.

You can try to use another keyboard or create a WinPE media.

Thank you.

Thank you for your response.

The keyboard I use is the one on the laptop. It has always worked fine.

I have no idea how to create and WinPE media, even with those instructions. What do I do now to create a bootable disk to use my Acronis program to recover from a computer failure?
