Boot Drive (Partition) not found.
I tried to do my first recovery with ATIH 2012 and get the following error :-
Acronis Loader fatal error : Boot drive (partition) not found. Press 'Enter' to try to Boot your OS.
I have Windows 7 and a RAID Array 1. I tried to do a recover from within ATIH and Windows 7. I get the error when the computer reboots to commence the recovery process.
Fortunately I can do a restore using the bootable acronis media. I also had to repair my MBR to avoid getting the message each time I do a reboot.

Pat L wrote:Always do the recovery from the recovery CD. Same for cloning.
Wow! I sure wish this was in the User Guide. There is no mention of anything like that in section 8.4 of the manual. It seems like very good advice.

Users should always be wary of "reboot" procedures (whether it's TI or DD). There is always the possibility that somthing may go wrong and leave the system in an undesirable state. I also recommend doing these procedures from the CD. However, as with any type of feature/program that can destroy the system, test it out and make sure it works before depending on it. For example, if you have a current backup and know you can successfully restore that from the TI CD, you have nothing to lose by trying the "reboot" restore. If it works correctly it's generally easier and quicker for most users. Also, don't assume that because it works correctly on one computer than it will on another -- test on each one.
While I avoid "reboot" procedures on working systems, I have done a lot of them while testing and they generally work just fine.
What type of RAID 1 are you using?

I am getting the same errors when trying a real recovery after the hdd failed. I attempted to boot with the recovery disk I created and got the error. I then replaced the hdd and tried to boot from the disk again and got the same error (there are two hdd in the system Disk0 is a Primary with nothing but data and the TIB files on it, Disk1 is a Primary and Boot with the OS (Windows7). I wound up installing Windows7 on the new disk, then installing Acronis then launching the restore. That worked.
Now I am trying to test booting from the recovery disk but am still getting the same Acronis Loader fatal error : Boot drive (partition) not found. Press 'Enter' to try to Boot your OS. Any ideas why the recovery disk will not load? I did try it on another PC and it loads just fine.
thanks!

Have you tried creating a bootable flash drive instead of a CD? It may boot better on your system.

@CB,
If you change the disk settings in the BIOS from SATA to IDE and then boot on the DVD does it work?
If yes, returning the BIOS settings to SATA, what happens if you use a USB flash drive ?

I have the same problem as Adriaan BAREL when using the bootable media.
I use Windows 7 Prof 64bit installed on a Vertex 3 SSD. I tried lots of changings in my peripheral devices. No success
Is there any way to see what happens between
Starting Acronis Loader and
Acronis Loader fatal error : Boot drive (partition) not found. Press 'Enter' to try to Boot your OS?

MudCrab & Pat L - my BIOS would not let me change the channel type to IDE from SATA (at least not that I cold find). the BIOS did an autodetect on all devices.
I did create a USB bootable device with the ATIH utility. The system got an initial error of :Acronis Loader: unable to run boot menu, press enter to continue". I pressed enter and ATIH booted.
I don't understand why the USB drive boots (with an error however) and the CD will not boot at all???

I encountered this same error msg yesterday when trying to partition my new Dell I570 using ADD11Home bootable media - So, just to see if this occured with all my Acronis bootable media, I tried ATIH 2012 and ATIHPP 2012 (Build 6154) - They all got the same error and they are all the latest versions - So I tried my Win(7)PE with EasyUS Todo Backup plugin and it booted fine!! Hmmm - I have an external CD/DVD USB LG burner for my netbook so I plugged it in to the Dell and the Acronis media all booted fine!! -- Hmmmm -- So, after finding these posts, it hit me it had to be an AHCI / ATA (IDE) problem -- the bios on this machine (Dell) shows the HDD set to AHCI with the other option being ATA (some bios on other machines show IDE or COMPATIBILITY, etc ) - So I changed the setting to ATA saved it and rebooted to the internal CD/DVD drive with the Acronis bootable media and it worked fine !!! No more ERRORS!! However, you have to change it back in order to run the W7 OS as the registry is set to AHCI - I ran into this same problem on my netbook trying to install XP as a dual system - I needed an AHCI HDD driver for XP Home but couldn't find one anywhere (no help from Acer as usual) - I tried Google and found a complete article on how to change the registry from AHCI to IDE by Roli Oradea from Romania but I lost the link - but you can Google "Change registry from AHCI to IDE" and I'm sure it'll show up - However, I can't say if this would be a good solution - It may slow things down and who knows what else!! But at least you can change temporarily to run your Acronis bootable media - Hope this helps - John

I have a Dell Inspiron 520 with the Boot Drive (Partition) not found error and used a USB DVD and it worked fine. What really is strange is that in the BIOS you can not make the suggested changes I have seen mentioned above. So if you have a USB DVD then try that because again that worked for me.
