Boot manager screen comes on after using newly cloned ssd

Thread needs solution

I cloned a smaller ssd to a larger capacity ssd. Using windows 7 pro. The older ssd is not partitioned and is a basic disk. The cloning went smoothly. When I tried to boot up with the new ssd, I needed to select the new drive as the boot drive. The new drive seemed to boot up normally but a black Boot Manager Screen came up. The first entry showed windows 7, so I selected it and windows booted normally. I am using the computer now. But it does this every time I boot up. How can I eliminate this problem? I am waiting for my Windows 10 upgrade, but suspect I could have problems when I upgrade if it is not corrected now. I would appreciate any help.

I suggest you remove the old system SSD if it is still attached. Then boot from recovery media (such as Win 7 Pro DVD) and run the repair module. That should deal with the muti boot issue that you had. Alternatively, you can disable the boot choice through Windows. I have done this with dual booting win 7 pro system - long time ago so I do not remember the process. I suggest doing a search on 'disabling' Win 7 boot manager loading on bootup.

The second approach is likely to be the quickest and most effective.

I used the first suggestion. It did work for a few boots, but then reverted back. I will try the second approach that you recommended. Thank you for your post.
