Bootable CD trouble.
I have happily used TI 8 for years. My C drive got crowded so I bought a Seagate Portable External Drive. It came with Seagate DiscWizard that has Acronis Version 11 Build 8326 on it. I installed it on C drive and made an image onto External HD. Then I made a bootable CD and when I boot from it I get an error:
acronis: insmod error inserting '/lib/modules/acpiphp.ko -1
no such device. cannot open module st. no such file or directory. no raid disk.
My Computer does recognize the external drive.
So where do I go from here? Seagate support has no idea what is wrong. Do I need to give up and buy the latest Acronis or can I make DiscWizard work?
Thanks,
Tim

Dell has a place on their website where I can update drivers for my PC. To fix the bootable cd problem what kind of driver would account for the above mentioned error? If I have to, I don't mind just buying the new version , but would that enable me to make a bootable cd that works?

Acronis allows users to download a Trial version which allows you to make the bootable CD and you can then test the CD to see if your Seagate external will be seen.
But before you install the Trial, be sure you make a Backup with the version 8 that you're familiar with so you can recover to it in case the Trial version doesn't work for you.
