bootable image dvd

Thread needs solution

If i have to store a 10 Gb acronis image file on a set of 3 x DVD5 can i
a) write the dvds from within the program or create the split image files first on my HDD and then proceed?

b) Is there a way to write a bootable sector on my first of the 3 dvds from within acronis. If i cannot do that how do i make a bootable dvd from the split images on my HDD?

If i do not need bootables then how do i restore my image wth only a single dvd Rrom and a boot DVD?

Thanks a lot for any help to this novice and debutant acronis home user

a) TI can automatically split an image across multiple DVDs. You can also select to split the file into DVD-sized chunks for later burning onto DVDs (use a standard DVD burning program of this).

b) There is an option to to include the TI media on the DVDs. However, this is not required. You can boot from the standard TI CD and then remove that CD and insert the backup DVDs as necessary. The computer does not need to have two DVD drives.

Note that it's recommended to back up to a hard drive (USB drive, for example) instead of optical media, if possible. If you must use optical media, make sure to boot to the TI CD and verify that TI can properly read and validate the DVDs.

Thanks
may i ask at what stage must i switch DVDs (boot media to the DVD containing the media)?

You can switch any time after TI has loaded. Normally, you would insert the image DVD before starting the validation or restore process in TI.
