Bootable media fails to detect on-board NIC

Thread needs solution

Hello,
I have True Image 11 Home. When booting the PC with the Bootable CD, the screen goes black after the Acronis splash screen. I went into My Account and downloaded build 8101 bootable iso image and made a boot CD with it. Acronis boots all the way into the program, but now my problem is that Acronis does not detect the on-board NICs. They are Intel 82574L NICs. Can you please help?

Hi, I'm trying to evaluate Snap Deploy 3 and I'm having the same problem with bootable media and PXE bootable options starting the client program fine, but failing to detect NICs on the client machine using the master image creator software.

Is there a fix for this?

I had a similar problem with TI Home 2009, but in my case it was a non-standard RAID controller on my motherboard.

My solution was to build a BartPE-based recovery CD, which allowed me to include the required drivers for my disk controller. You might have to do the same, including the drivers for your embedded NIC.

I was told about a "WinPE" based recovery CD, but I didn't pursue that option.

The general description for BartPE is at http://kb.acronis.com/content/1506
