Bootbable Rescue CD cannot find backups

Thread needs solution

ATI Home 11 v8.101
Vista SP2
internal SATA HD, plus 2 external eSATA HDs

The bootable rescue CD was burnt to the latest image.
It boot up fine but when I try to find my backups it shows a progress bar looking for partitions then before finding any drives or folders it reboots out of Acronis. Same happens if I look for an image to validate.

The rescue CD works fine on a simple laptop with XP Pro and one internal HD.

Any help appreciated.

Most likely this is a problem of your recovery CD not having the right drivers.
You should try the latest version of ATI to see if that solves it. Just take the following precautions to make your life easier:
- do a full backup of your current system so that you can recover your ATI v11 installation should you choose to do it,
- uninstall ATI v11
- install the trial version of ati 2011
- create a bootable media with the trial,
- use it to see if you can see your drives.

Most likely, there is a problem with the Linux driver support for the hardware. You could try disconnecting in external drives first and see if it helps (this includes media card readers, iPODs, etc.).

Is the "latest image" you're using the ISO downloaded from your Acronis account?

Version 8 did not support eSata drives. TI 2010 and 2011 do

Thank you for replies.

For ATI 11 I was using the latest official image. (It is quite an old image)
I have tried the ATI Home 2011 recovery disk and get same problem as with ATI 11.

I have now tried rival Easus and Macronia products and their Linux recovery disks work fine first time, and with the USB etc drives still in place.

When you say you get the same problems, could you describe them?
