Booting Acronis 11 from CD to run recovery and alert tells me Acronis cannot find any hard disk
I've been using Acronis since version 9 and never run into this problem.
Lenovo Thinkpad T520 i5. 500gig hard disc drive is partitioned for C, D and E drives. Acronis tib is on E. Windows 7 Ultimate. Sata drive is set for "Compatibility" in bios, ( blue screens in AHCI ).
Windows is fully functional with no issues.
I installed software that wasn't to my liking and since I had just done a backup, I decided it would be easier to restore than uninstall. I used Acronis 11 to restore from within Windows (1st time for this machine, I think?) When it rebooted, It never loaded Acronis, but booted directly into windows. The screen resolution was incorrect, however. I shut down and it booted into windows normally.
Next, I tried to run Acronis 11 by booting from a cd. The program started and ran normally, then told me it was unable to find any hard disc. It was able to locate and read an external USB Hard Drive on which I had a .tib, but the program did not discover the hard disc.
I suspect this is not an Acronis problem itself, but more of a bios configuration issue - but I am in over my head!
