Booting Acronis from USB drive results in garbled screen

Thread needs solution

Hello!

Today I tried to move my 500GB HDD to a 750GB SSD. The SSD contained a license for Acronis 2015 HD (although in my profile it says Acronis True Image 2014 OEM).

I backed my HDD up and created a bootable Acronis USB drive. I restarted using this USB drive. Unfortuanetly the GUI came up completely unreadable and tiny.
Is found this article in your help that says "press F11 and enter vga=ask" but this doesn't work. I can't read anything on the screen. I also tried "vga=0x307" to no avail. Also editing the command line parameters after selecting Acronis in the boot menu didn't help.

Is there anything I can try?

After swapping HDD and SDD a couple of times my HDD stopped working, so I really would like to get my backup to the SSD and working.

Hello Thomas,

Thank you for your posting! I'd suggest contacting the hardware manufacturer, who supplied the SSD with the OEM version of Acronis True Image. These OEM solutions are based on Acronis engine, but are customized depending on the product they are distributed with. Support for the Acronis OEM software is handled through the company whose product contained the Acronis OEM software, as they are best equipped to understand the specific OEM application as well as the relationship between the Acronis software and their product.

Alternatively I'd recommend to install a free trial of Acronis True Image 2017.

Thank you,
